Chapter 38

In Three Months, Go to the Hospital for a Check-up

Hearing this, Lin Yun immediately turned her head back. “Li Yong, what is there to look at regarding me? Miss Ji, I don’t need a reading. Give the money back.”

Ji He smiled slightly. “You’ve been married for eight years and haven’t been able to conceive a child, right?”

“How did you know?”

Lin Yun looked surprised. She glanced at Li Yong, thinking he had told Miss Ji beforehand.

But she saw that Li Yong’s expression was very strange.

It seemed to be one of surprise, yet also one of conviction.

Li Yong was a bit excited and spoke rapidly, “Miss Ji, you’re absolutely right. For the first few years, we weren’t in a hurry to have children, but later when we wanted them, we found we could never conceive. Both of us have had our bodies checked and there’s nothing wrong at all. What do you think is going on?”

Ji He reached out and pointed at several items in the living room, looking at Lin Yun with a faint smile.

“Didn’t your ‘three-thousand-yuan Feng Shui master’ tell you that these items shouldn’t be placed this way?”

Lin Yun’s face flushed, as if she hadn’t expected that her behind-the-back gossip would be overheard by the person herself.

Then, she gave Li Yong a tug.

Li Yong looked in the direction Ji He was pointing, seeing a potted plant in the corner, a wood carving on the cabinet, and a landscape painting hanging on the wall.

Li Yong’s expression grew frantic. “Miss Ji, is there something wrong with these items?”

He stood up immediately, waiting for Ji He to speak.

“Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth, the Five Elements conflict with one another. A potted plant contains both Wood and Earth, yet there is no Metal to balance it. The landscape corresponds to Water and Earth, but it lacks Fire. Furthermore, the way these items are arranged is extremely detrimental to a fetus.”

She paused for a moment before continuing:

“Your wife must have had a miscarriage once already.”

Ji He said this in a flat tone, yet it sent a wave of shock through Li Yong’s heart.

He looked at Lin Yun in near panic; it seemed that even he hadn’t known about this.

“Wife… you never told me!”

Lin Yun was completely stunned. No one knew about her miscarriage except for her best friend, not even her parents. Where had Ji He heard about it?

Her heart beat rapidly as she looked at Ji He in disbelief.

Could it be… she really calculated it?

“Honey, when did the miscarriage happen? Why didn’t you tell me?”

Li Yong looked at Lin Yun with eyes full of heartache, reaching out to support her shoulders. If Miss Ji hadn’t calculated it, he probably would never have known about this for the rest of his life.

Lin Yun couldn’t bear to see him looking like he was about to cry, so she pretended to be nonchalant. “You were on a business trip with President Ji at the time. Even if I had told you, you couldn’t have come back. Besides, it was a miscarriage; what was there to say? It would have just made you worry for nothing.”

Despite her words, Lin Yun’s eyes welled with tears. She hadn’t even known a child had come before she had already lost him.

Li Yong couldn’t help but clench his fists. “I’m sorry, honey…”

“The one we should be sorry to is that child.”

Lin Yun’s voice trembled slightly. But no amount of apologies could bring the child back.

Li Yong closed his eyes and tilted his head back to wipe the tears from the corners of his eyes. Only then did he look at Ji He. “Miss Ji, if we remove these things, will everything be okay?”

“No need to take them away. I’ll just help you adjust them.”

Ji He shook her head and stood up to start rearranging the items.

Li Yong hurried forward. “Miss Ji, just say the word and I’ll move them.”

With someone to do the labor, Ji He stayed where she was and directed Li Yong on where to place the items.

She didn’t know if it was just an illusion, but once the items were in their new positions, Lin Yun felt a weight lift off her body; even her breathing became much smoother.

Looking around the room, she even felt as though the interior had become brighter.

This…

Lin Yun grew increasingly astonished, momentarily at a loss for words.

It wasn’t until Li Yong walked back to her side that she snapped out of it, grabbing him and pulling him into the kitchen.

“Can Miss Ji really tell fortunes?”

“Wife, of course it’s true. When have I ever lied to you?”

Li Yong nodded repeatedly, wishing he could carve those words into Lin Yun’s brain.

Lin Yun immediately panicked. “Then… will Miss Ji blame me for how I treated her just now? Why didn’t you say so earlier? I’m doomed, Miss Ji will definitely be angry!”

Li Yong looked at Lin Yun helplessly.

Didn’t he say so? He’s said it several times!

Lin Yun wasn’t a bad person, she just had a sharp tongue but a soft heart, and often offended people because of it.

Moreover, she completely refused to listen to advice!

Li Yong could only comfort her: “Honey, don’t worry. Miss Ji is a very good person; she definitely didn’t take those words of yours to heart.”

“How is that possible? Isn’t it rumored outside that Miss Ji is the most vengeful? Hurry up and think of something. How can we make Miss Ji stop being angry?”

Lin Yun paced around anxiously. If she had known sooner that Miss Ji really could tell fortunes, she definitely wouldn’t have said those things.

Li Yong caught hold of Lin Yun. “I don’t know where you heard those things from, but from the Miss Ji I know, she isn’t that kind of person. Just go out and give her a sincere apology, and she won’t blame you.”

“Really?”

Seeing Li Yong nod firmly, Lin Yun stepped out of the kitchen half-doubting.

Ji He was sitting on the sofa, scrolling through her phone.

Lin Yun walked slowly up to Ji He, took a deep breath, and said, “Miss Ji, I was far too rude to you just now. I’m sorry.”

“Hmm?”

Ji He looked at her, seemingly not quite understanding what she meant.

In Lin Yun’s eyes, however, this scene looked as if Ji He wouldn’t accept her apology.

She lowered her head even further. “Miss Ji, I’m sorry.”

“Do you… still want to take the money back?”

Ji He asked, looking perplexed.

She hadn’t taken anything Lin Yun said before to heart, assuming the woman still wanted to take back the two thousand yuan divination fee.

That money was already in her account!

Ji He turned to Li Yong, her gaze full of inquiry.

Li Yong realized what was happening and stepped forward to help Lin Yun up. “No, it’s nothing like that. Miss Ji helped us solve such a huge problem; Lin Yun just wanted to apologize for what happened earlier.”

“It’s no matter. I’ve adjusted all the furnishings in the house for you. Remember to air the place out more over the next few days to keep the air flowing.”

Ji He stood up; now that the matter was resolved, it was time for her to leave.

Seeing Ji He’s movement, Li Yong remembered something and slapped his forehead. “Miss Ji, please wait a moment.”

He ran into the bedroom and came out a short while later holding some items.

“Please take these. Xiao Yun and I rarely use computers, so keeping them is pointless. I saw your livestream, and these should come in handy.”

Ji He accepted the items. There was a camera, a headset, a microphone, and more. They were all brand new, appearing as if they had just been bought.

“Thank you. In three months, remember to go to the hospital for a check-up.”

After saying this, Ji He walked toward the door.

Li Yong and Lin Yun glanced at each other, stunned for a long while before snapping out of it. Miss Ji’s meaning was…

In three months, they would be able to conceive?
